The hottest neighborhood in Portland redeveloping Hassalo on Eighth

It’s no secret that the downtown Lloyd District area is exploding with new residential options, eclectic shops and restaurants in creating a whole new neighborhood in different pockets of the downtown district. The newest of these is Hassalo on Eighth. Opening summer of 2015 and pre-leasing beginning this month, this new residential and retail building will feature studios, one, two, and three-bedroom condominiums, penthouses, over 1200 car spaces, 1000 bike stalls and access to immediate public transportation. In addition there will be retail and common areas and because of this district is eco-friendly, you have everything you want all in one building.

Additionally, many of the buildings in the downtown district are getting new names. For instance: Block 92 is now the Velomor building; Block 101, 21 story complex with over 300 apartments and retail outlets is now the Aster Tower; The Lloyd 700 with office space, and Block 100, a five story building with apartments and retail is now the Elwood Building. We are literally redefining this neighborhood on the inner east side reclaiming parking lots and older buildings into an eco-friendly, 24 hour community. This is designed to be a place where people will work, live and entertain.

The Hassalo neighborhood is being developed primarily by the American Assets Trust and Portland's GBD Architects. The new building will feature 186 studio units, 356 one-bedroom units, 98 two-bedroom units and 3 three-bedroom units. There will also be 50,000 ft.² of retail and restaurant space for lease as well as over 270,000 ft.² of office space.
