Beaverton Oregon is located west of downtown Portland along Highway 26 and is an extremely popular place for any people that work and play in downtown Portland. Portland is about 10 to 20 minutes from Beaverton depending on where you live. This is primarily a residential community with numerous parks, schools, shopping centers and community activities.
If you're looking for a condominium in Beaverton there are several townhouse communities and condominium buildings although you won't find the high-rise condo buildings like you would in downtown Portland. Many of these condominiums are smaller homes, complexes, and townhouse communities with multilevel living with 2 to 4 properties attached. At any given time there are roughly 15 to 35 condominium style properties for sale in Beaverton. These are priced from about $100,000-$400,000 based on size, location and condition. Homes starting off at the lower end between $100,000 and $150,000 are typically one bedroom and one bath units around 700 ft.². The median price is about $215,000 for a two or three bedroom multilevel townhouse with about 1000 ft.² to 1200 ft.². Over $300,000 will typically get you a three or even a four bedroom townhouse from 1500 ft.² to over 2200 ft.².
When purchasing a condominium you'll need to understand the laws, rules and conditions that govern over a homeowners association. Most owners will be required to pay monthly homeowner association fees and these can range anywhere from $100 a month to $500 a month. These fees will include all common area maintenance, most building maintenance including the roof and siding and any amenity maintenance on-site. Several townhouse communities or condominium complexes could provide residents and their guests with amenities such as swimming pools, hot tubs or tennis courts. Usually the more amenities a complex has the higher the HOA dues.
You'll also want to make sure that you agree with all of the bylaws, rules and restrictions to the complex before purchasing a home. If there's something that you don't agree with or if you have pets and the association does not allow for it, this might be a complex you want to steer clear of. Most townhouses will allow pets but there may be restrictions such as size and weight.
