If you don't already have plans for Memorial Day and you know that most campgrounds and hotels will be booked there are still some fantastic events happening right here in town. Here's what's happening Memorial Day, 2015 in and around Portland Oregon.Best Things to Do This Memorial Day in Portland

Probably the biggest will be the CityFair and fireworks May 22 through the 25th, 28 to the 30th and June 3 -7. This CityFair features carnival rides, a food fair, lots of exhibits and of course, fireworks at Tom McCall waterfront Park.

The Festival of Flowers will be happening in Pioneer Square all weekend with 20,000 flowers and over 45,000 visitors. This is been one of the most favored it festivals in Portland and each year Pioneer Square works with local artists to create a masterpiece of vibrant color with nearly 20,000 flowers. This is certainly worth a stopover on your way to some other festival this weekend. Enjoy the Cirque version of Alice in Wonderland with acrobats, jugglers, dancers and musicians at the Albert Rose theater.

Saturday night has numerous musical events, plays and theater renditions including the dueling piano bar and dinner show at Portland's Barrel Room, the Artists Repertory theater presents 4000 Miles, Buffy! The Parody musical at the fun house lounge, Dan Soder at the Helium Comedy Club, and at the Ventetian theater enjoy Our County’s Good.

If you're looking to let loose, check out the beer and cider garden at the Pix Patisserie’s Outdoor Courtyard and the Memorial Day weekend wine tasting at Hip Chicks Do Wine. There will be live music, appetizers and logo glasses.

If you're not too hung over on Sunday morning you can enjoy the Run Rum! This race will transport you to the islands with a tiki torch line finish, Caribbean music and of course the realm of garden after the party. It may be too late to register but you can certainly come and enjoy the rum garden.
