Family Activities and Events in Portland Oregon 2013

Looking for adventure and summer fun for the whole family? Portland’s parks and recreational department has a lot of summer activities and events perfect for families and participants of all ages. They’re 2013 schedule includes movies in the Park, lunch programs, concerts and more. Over 46 concerts featuring bands appropriate for all ages will be gracing the stages across the Portland Metro area all throughout the summer.

Concerts!

Concerts start on July 8 at Sellwood Riverfront Park at Southeast Spokane and Oaks Parkway at 6:30 PM every night of the week. On Sundays enjoy several concerts August 11 and the 18th at Elizabeth Caruthers Park at 3508 Southwest Moody Ave.Several concerts include comedy, rhythm and blues, jazz, indie kids rock, Irish pub tunes, Louisiana and New Orleans music comedy soul music and lots of different genres. We’re sure you’ll find something that will please everybody in the family with one of these free concerts in several parks throughout Portland. Movies!

Movies in the park start on June 27 and friend throughout the week on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at several different parks. Enjoy movies like the Life of Pi, Ratatouille, the Lion King, Brave, the Hobbit and other family favorites. Parks include Peninsula Park, Woodlawn Park, King school Park and Wilshire Park just to name a few. Click here for all the schedules for movies beginning at 6:30 PM.

Swimming!Family Activities and Events in Portland Oregon 2013

There are several swim events all throughout the summer including four days of free swim lessons in Portland pools June 18 to the 21st and open place when times and Portland Parks and rec in select pools. Openness swim is from June 18 to August 30 different times throughout the week at a variety of pools throughout the Portland Metro area. Click here to check the schedule.

Festivals!

The Washington Park Summer Festival is happening at the Rose Garden amphitheater August 1 through the 10th. The summer festival will be a variety of concerts in the park, food, great music, and lots of family activities.
