July is really the month where summer gets going. There are so many great events happening this July and here's just a few of our favorites that you won't want to miss.

The Waterfront Blues Festival. Starting on the weekend of July 4, this is the largest blues Festival west of the Mississippi. Gather on the Waterfront Park for five days of national top acts, fabulous music, food, entertainment, activities and a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks show.Portland July Events

The Oregon Brewers Festival is also happening the month of July at the Waterfront Park July 22 through the 26th. This is the 28th annual Oregon Brewers Festival featuring over 90 different craft beers from around the country. Portland is known for our microbrews and with fantastic breweries such as McMenamin, this is the place to be to find your favorite. There will be a parade, and annual brunch, lots of beer gardens, tastings and more. If you love your brew, you won't want to miss this event.

At the Cathedral Park is the Jazz Festival on Sunday, June 28, From 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at 6635 North Baltimore St., participants will enjoy live music, a silent auction and fabulous catering. Pre-sale tickets are just $20 or $25 at the door.

If you're looking to get cooled off this July you won't want to miss the Big Float. Starting on July 26 at 11:00 AM at the Waterfront Park, the cost is just $5 through July 19 and then it goes up from there. V among over 3000 floaters as they float down the river cooling off as they go. This is a unique attraction and even if you can't get in the water, it's something to behold for sure.

Portland Highland Games is happening July 18 at the Mt. Hood community college in Gresham. This family-friendly event puts an emphasis on the Scottish Highland music, athletics, dancing and food. It's a great cultural activity for the entire family.

Flicks on the Bricks at the Pioneer Courthouse Square you won't want to miss movies on the big screen. This outdoor movie venue is happening July 24, the 31st and August 7, 14th and 21st. You can vote on their website for the movies that you want to see, bring your outdoor chairs, food and cooler and simply sit back, enjoy the movie on the big screen under the stars in downtown.
