The Markham Neighborhood is located in the southwest section of Portland Oregon just east of I-5. It’s bordered by Multnomah and South Burlingame on the North and Marshall Park on the east, Arnold Creek in the South and West Portland park on the west. It contains part of the Maricara Natural Area which is a beautiful park acquired in 1988 including hiking trails, natural area, and over 17 acres of nature preserves.

This more suburban type of neighborhood is located closer to the city, which makes it a great location for commuting and easy access to the interstate. It is a fabulous combination of nature, resources, and residential areas close to public transportation and freeways.

The Markham neighborhood has four distinct parks including Marshall Park, Jensen natural area, Burlingame Park and the Maricara Natural area. Marshall Park is over 25 acres and includes paths, picnic tables, hiking trails, and dense wooded areas. The Jensen natural area is located on Broadleaf Drive and it is over 2 acres of natural area. The Burlingame Park is located on Falcon Street and has about 5 acres of playgrounds, picnic tables, sports fields and has handicapped access.

The Markham neighborhood is served by the Portland school district and utilizes the Capital Hill Elementary school, Jackson middle school and Wilson high school. This neighborhood is also just north of the Portland Community College, which makes it a great location for those that need a quick commute to the college campus or the Multnomah County Library, also just south of the Markham neighborhood.

REAL ESTATE

There are a variety of homes in the Markham neighborhood starting at about $230,000. The wide range of homes, styles and architecture make this a great location for several homebuyers. From new homes to homes built in the 1970s, condominiums and duplexes, the Markham neighborhood offers a diverse collection of properties to choose from priced from about $270,000-$550,000.
