Where to Relocate when Moving to Portland

Portland has been voted one of the 10 greatest paces to live by Outside Magazine and if you need to relocate here for work, school, or any other reason now is one of the best times to do so. Portland is one of the up-and-coming cities with trendy coffee shops, world-renowned chefs, eclectic neighborhoods, and artistic flair to say the very least. With a famous light rail system, easy transportation, and stunning landscape, Portland makes an ideal location for families, singles, and even retirees. Moderate climates, close to the beach, the ocean, rivers and mountains, I certainly can’t find another place on the planet as amazing as Portland.

But that’s just me.Portland with a view

With fabulous public schools, hundreds of parks, the city of bridges, and a foodies dream, Portland is a unique blend of eclectic environmentalists, hard-working business people, urban dwellers, and outdoor adventures. If you fit anywhere within these personalities and characteristics, Portland may be for you. Money Magazine once named Portland one of the country’s best places to live and it’s a bicycle’s paradise, outdoor activist’s playground, and a festivalgoers dream.

If you’re unsure where to start, it’s hard for me to put into words all of the details, neighborhoods and communities within the Portland Metro and surrounding area. If you have no idea where to start it’s best to just contact me and let me know your price range, where you’re looking to live and your lifestyle and I can offer you several different neighborhoods and communities that might work best for your situation. Being in the downtown area you're close to businesses and industrial areas, fabulous restaurants, museums and galleries. Just outside the downtown area though are wooded neighborhoods, luxury estates, stunning views, and lots of neighborhood parks and schools. You don’t have to go far from downtown to feel like you’re in touch with nature. Portland is all about blending nature with urban development and they do so so seamlessly.

Life on the East side of the mountains means you’re close to the Columbia River, Multnomah Falls, and can easily get out of town to the East we need be. Those more on the West side of the Willamette, which runs North and South through downtown Portland, can easily head West to the ocean through Beaverton and the Oregon zoo.

Those that choose towards the south have more community based cities such as Lake Oswego, Tigard, Tualatin and Wilsonville. All of these cities are easily accessible along I5 for quick transportation into downtown as well as encompassed their own community with shops, malls, outdoor outlets, markets and restaurants.

Home prices various as do rentals. Forest Heights over on the West tend have some of the more expensive homes upwards of $500,000 plus. Those in the South by Tigard and Tualatin have homes between $250,000 and $450,000. Homes to the East can tend to be more historical or vintage but still run the gamut of prices from $200,000 all the way up to $1 million.

Still unsure? Don’t worry. I don’t want to overwhelm you with a variety of places that may or may not fit your desired tastes and needs. Give me a call and let’s discuss. I want help you find the right home in the right neighborhood for the needs that meet your lifestyle. I look forward to talking with you about relocating to Portland Oregon.
