Fun events, concerts, and things to do this summer around Portland Oregon

This summer is packed with dozens of super fun festivals, contests, concerts, events and activities. Here’s some highlights that you can enjoy with your special someone or with the whole family this summer around Portland.

Already in full swing is the Portland Saturday public market which runs March through the end of Christmas. It’s Portland Summer Events 2013located at 2 SW Naito Parkway and is open Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday 11 AM to 4:30 PM. Visit Portland Saturday for more information on vendors. There are dozens of others farmers markets throughout organ and the Portland Metro area check out for listings and details.

There are lots of fun beach events happening this June including the 49th annual Sand Castle Contest happening in Canon Beach a little over an hour from downtown Portland. Rockaway Beach also has a super fun Pirate Festival and the Portland Rose Festival is running all through the next couple of weeks with this fireworks spectacular, the Waterfront Village happening at Tom McCall Waterfront Park May 24 through June 9, the Rose Festival Fleet week June 4 through the 9th and the Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade on June 8 in downtown.

Enjoy Waterfront Park Fourth of July fireworks at Tom McCall Waterfront Park and the 26th annual Waterfront Blues Festival also at the Park July 4 to the 7th.

Fun events in surrounding counties include the Sandy Mountain Days Festival in Sandy July 13 and 14th and the Washington County fair at the fairgrounds July 25 to the 28th. Enjoy other County fairs in Newport Oregon which features the Lincoln County fair and rodeo July 12 through the 14th. The Benton County fair and rodeo in Corvallis happens July 31 through August 3 and the Clackamas County Fairgrounds are open August 13 through the 18th and then the big one, the ultimate fair adventure, at the Oregon State fair in Salem August 23 through September 2. Enjoy concerts with the Oregon Zoo, golf events and tournaments and don’t miss the Bite of Oregon at Tom McCall Waterfront Park August 9 two the 11th. Taste some of the most delicious delicacies from world-class chefs and award-winning restaurants all around Washington and Clackamas County.

If you can’t find anything to do in town there’s always the Columbia River Gorge, boating on the Willamette River or hiking to Multnomah Falls as well as dozens of other outdoor activities and adventures. Come find your perfect adventure this summer around Portland Oregon.
