The 2019 Holiday Ale Festival

This 24th annual holiday Festival runs December 4 through December 8. There will be over 50 craft beers at this unique winter event. Entry is just $40 and this becomes one of Portland's favorite activities. Held in the heart of downtown Portland at the Pioneer Courthouse Square, more than 50 breweries are featured all bringing their very best of the season. These are not the beers you'll find in your local grocery store as many have been created all year long just to be released at the Holiday Ale Festival.

Christmas Ships

The Christmas ship parade is almost here. Dozens of beautifully lit ships and boats will head down the Columbia and Willamette Rivers for 15 nights beginning on December 5 through Sunday, December 22. There will be seven nights where they will have a combined fleet and other night each fleet parade is in a particular river. They are scheduled for both the Columbia River fleet and the Willamette fleet. If you've ever seen this event, it's definitely worth it. The parade starts at 7 PM near Salty's/Gleason boat ramp until about 9 PM.

Train to Christmas Town

It's easy to get in the holiday spirit aboard the Train to Christmas Town. Following the book sequel "All Aboard the Train to Christmas Town", you can get into the holiday spirit with the magic in the air with this train ride to Christmas town November 16 through December 29. Tickets start at $33 and it is a one and a half-hour train ride. There will be music, food, hot chocolate, cookies, and more. Get your tickets early as this event usually sells out.

Zoo Lights at the Oregon Zoo

with over 64 acres in Washington Park, the massive Oregon Zoo decks about everything that will stand still in millions of LED lights and a lot of things that are not standing still as well. This event runs through January 5 and tickets start at just $13 for youth. The zoo opens every day at 9:30 AM and the Zoo Lights will start at 5 PM until 9 PM. Be sure to get your tickets, spend a day at the zoo, and enjoy the amazing lights at night.

Mount Hood Ski Bowl

Put on your warm clothes and had to Mount Hood for their snow tube and adventure Park. If you love playing in the snow, this is one of the best places in the Portland area to do it. The adventure and snow tubing Park features fantastic tubing, a winter wonderland adventure Park with all sorts of snow play attractions and activities a super play fun zone, kids snowmobiles and carousel. Don your holiday clothes and head up the mountain.
